“Between Pound and the Novissimi ”: This book brings together the first chapter of La poetica di Pound [Pound’s Poetics] (1949-1950), which had already appeared in Poetica americana e altri studi di poetica (first published in 1953), and “Orizzonti della poesia” [Horizons of Poetry] (first published in 1962, in Il Verri). The Novissimi are five leftist experimental poets associated with Il Verri, who claimed Pound as a major influence, and became established in the 1960s as the principal exponents of the Italian “Neo-Avantgarde.”
